If Commander Zan did see the White Ghost recently then that would mean that this person is nearby, or at least was.
I was able to ask Commander Zan some questions but not too many. He seems suspicious of everyone so I don’t take it personally. He did tell me that two of the other houses work for them though he didn’t tell me which ones.
After hearing that I had just met with the trundels the Commander told me that the Misfit feel abandoned by the trundels who created them many years ago. The trundels moved on to other projects and left the Misfit to go about their own lives as they saw fit. The wolf leader told me that he can only “conclude that the White Ghost is their leader King Runetracer.”
My talk with Commander Zan left me feeling tense. I am beginning to think that I can feel the reach of the White Ghost everywhere I go. It’s as if this person is always right behind me. I tried to shake off the feeling and I asked the guards to take me to the Lady once the Commander had left.
I was happy to have a chance to finally meet Lady Tagalong. I had heard that she was as strong as any wolf and shared leadership of the wolves with the Commander. She had proven herself to be fearless and she had earned the respect of all of Coalis. So you can understand my surprise when I instead found a Lady Tagalog who was too distraught to talk to me about anything but the pup locked behind the door next to her.
Her son had locked himself in his room and wouldn’t come out. She said that all she knows so far is what her son told her which is that two of his friends had just died. The window was open allowing the cold storm winds to blow in and on the floor now lie the bodies of his two friends Deb and Flo. They are lying in pools of water and broken glass. The most bizarre part of it is that he says they aren’t wearing any clothing. He insists that they didn’t die from exposure to the cold or by getting hit with anything from the window, but that they suffocated to death.
What happened?
