With a harmless Wumboo collecting all of its teeth from the floor (I suppose it plans to make a necklace), I searched the cavern for a way out. The ceiling is way too high for me to climb and I didn’t think this would be an appropriate time to ask the Wumboo for help.
I did hear and then feel a strong breeze from one corner of the cavern. As I looked closer I discovered a small tunnel. The Wumboo made a small questioning noise as I crawled inside. I wonder what it was asking.
The tunnel was slick and seemed to be made naturally of ancient blue ice. On the far end it opened up to a large very deliberately carved ice cavern. I must have looked like a mouse crawling out of a mouse hole to the giants in the room. Fortunately they grabbed me rather than squishing me, and they took me to Brrrr Frosttooth himself.
That’s where my good luck ended.
The ice giants that captured me consider me an intruder and say that I must be executed. I explained my purpose here and Frosttooth reasonably agreed that I had a good reason for being here before adding, “But the law is the law.”
“You have trespassed but I will give you a choice of deaths”
“You must choose either to be thrown into the frozen sea; thrown into a deep pit of razor sharp spikes of ice and stone; or being locked in a room with vicious polar bears who haven’t eaten in months.”
Is there a way out of this? Or maybe I should just be honest with myself and ask, which fate would make a better end to this story?
