While Heath Mazor was still rubbing the knot on his fiery head, I took the opportunity to ask him several questions. Heath of course says that he is not the White Ghost. Instead he suspects that his brother is, but he couldn’t give me any evidence or even a reason why he would suspect him.
While we were talking Heath also mentioned two other things that may or may not be important. First, he told me that Hermes Didious and a small group of elves had just recently brought him a souvenir from the ice giants, but it melted before Heath got the chance to see what it was. All he has now is a jar full of lukewarm ice giant water.
Afterward he told me that Old Grandpa Krall had passed through recently as well, having visited the north for the first time. He didn’t know why either of them were traveling.
After speaking with Heath Mazor, and with my duties as a ranger finished, I got back to Nestor and together we set off for the long roads ahead.
I passed through many villages and towns on my journey toward the grassy region of the Endless Plains where the Trundel Warrens can be found. Trundels live throughout our world but nowhere else can you find as many. This is also where their eldest member, jos, resides.
The roads to the Trundel Warrens are well-worn and easy to travel. This made Nestor very happy.
The trundels live underground with just a few mounds of dirt marking the entrance. This gave me the impression that the trundels lived in simple dirt burrows so I wasn’t prepared for the complexity I faced when I went inside. There are machines and gears and pistons and moving parts everywhere I look. There is so much motion and noise that it is difficult to tell what is going on, and most importantly, it is difficult to figure out how to get inside.
I am pretty sure that I have found the door but I need your help figuring out how to get it open. If I turn the handle the wrong way the door will lock. If I turn it the correct way it will open. I sketched it below. All these gears and parts are normal to trundels so in their eyes this is the equivalent of a simple on off lever. To me it’s just confusing.
Which way can I turn the gear so the door will open?
(So you ended up with dust bunnies? Try to have the trolls redirect them to. Maybe the trolls can teach the dust bunnies the way you taught the trolls. It’s worth a shot.)
The dust bunnies were found with notes demanding ransom.
