An answer in exchange for a clue

When I opened the door and saw the eight elves in the lodge I understood the wisdom of Herma’s test. They looked the same to me, but even not being able to tell them apart I knew instantly which one was Hermes by what he was doing.

Remind me to thank Herma later.

If I can figure out which one she is.

With Wumboo and Nestor entertaining the elves outside, I stood hunched in the elf sized house while Hermes finished his work. I politely declined offers of free dental work four times before explaining who I was and why I had come.

I think he was amused that I had picked him out and in exchange for answers to my questions he first tried to confuse me some more.

He said, “Herma’s dad had five daughters: Hemmie the oldest, Hemmie the older, Hemmie the middle, and Hemmie the young. What is the fifth daughter called?”

I figured this one out, can you?
