Surprise, this guy here, in case you don’t know,
is a troll who just might have climbed out of your bowl.
Trolls live in plumbing and holes and it seems,
in your pipes or your walls is where this one has been.
They like being heard but not to be seen,
and they like being smelled so they never keep clean.
Few people have seen them, but you have so you get
to see they don’t look like what you would expect.
When caught, trolls play dead or they hide during night,
but of course in the day they can’t sneak in the light.
Some scholars think trolls will then turn into stone,
but in truth it’s some substance to us still unknown.
Their body gets stiff but still soft much like foam.
It makes their skin look just as if it’s been sewn.
Their guts turn to fluff so they can’t break their bones
just in case in the trash they end up getting thrown.
And ’til the sun sets and its last light has shone,
they will stay in this way like an ugly lawn gnome,
not moving an inch ’til they know they’re alone,
which is how you found out you had trolls in your home.
Now all trolls hate snow so they won’t go outside,
they will all stay right here where it’s warm and it’s dry.
Now please don’t you think that a troll is ok,
just because they don’t do anything in the day.
I warn you that trolls get in trouble at night,
so each morning, find it and try as you might
to stop it and set its wrongdoings right,
like a play, it’s a bad script that needs a rewrite.
Whether a big change or one that is slight
a troll just won’t notice since trolls aren’t that bright.
Then please change the action from mischief outright,
to one that is at least a little alright.
This troll’s eating dirt from the plants with a spoon,
but there’s dirt on the floor why not give it the broom,
and tonight while you sleep and it’s moving once more,
as it eats up the dirt it will sweep up the floor!
