Krall is defeated.
In a strange way I have a lot to thank him for. He taught us that we should always be on our guard. Not afraid, but always alert and attentive, the same way you should always keep a knife sharp.
We had grown dull and he has sharpened us, and many things have since changed.
House Krall has now become the house of Winter as the Winter Wizard becomes the new voice of reason and good in the southern most reaches.
Mama Mazor has told me that she has never seen her sons so united. Maybe their bickering was just a phase.
Brrrr Frosttooth enjoyed his venture out of the Far North. We can only hope the ice giants will all open up to the rest of the world.
The Misfit are no longer shrouded in mystery and the trundels have taken a keen interest in taking on the challenge of maintaining them and even upgrading them as far as the Misfit would like.
I was able to finally thank Herma for her help because I actually recognized her. The elves are still identical but having learned who she is as a person I can recognize her by her manner and all those little things that make us unique.
The wolves remain suspicious, as is their nature, but they at least know now that some of us who are not wolves are still on their side.
As for me, I was awarded a title and a new honor name, Rain Fire; you can still call me Clarice if you prefer.
I have also been offered the honor of taking the oath in Krall’s place. We rangers have always been neutral but we are realizing that sometimes people need to take a side and take action before things go wrong, and not simply respond to them after they happen; even when it doesn’t appear to affect us at all.
I’m not sure that I am up for the task. After all, I have you to thank for most of my success. Without you I could never have made it. So thank you.
And one last question; but it’s a quick one.
I think I will accept and become an Oathbound. I will promise to always uphold the one rule, to shape our world by choosing actions that benefit others.
